JOHN KULISH
Domestic Violence
I have been an Illinois Psychologist and a Wisconsin Certified Batterer Treatment Provider. My DV rehab work was my contribution for social good. After 17 years of part time DV rehab work, IAM very familiar with the dynamics of major programs used for DV abuser rehab in the U. S. They all have some elements that are efficacious. I can see that a few of FANTASTIC’s Nobel laureate derived uncommon manifesting methods can help DV abusers; and consequently the abused intimate partners and their children.
In addition to devaluing her self-concept, name calling objectifies her. The military usually objectifies the enemy. If it’s a gook, a kraut, a chink, a raghead, Charlie, etc. , it is then easier for an indoctrinated soldier to kill, not a real person, but an objectified fantasy. The objectification changes the abusers reality of who what their partner is.
This then justifies his abuse. “Nobody tells me how to fix my car.”; becomes “I’ll give her a tune-up whenever I think she needs it.” Seeing her as an object helps an abuser minimize the guilt that comes from the abuse they inflict. Enough of detailed dynamics for now. The rest of the subtle abusive tactics have other numerous implications to get her “Under My Thumb”.
Threats, intimidation, sexual abuse, and physical abuse are obvious. The more subtle methods may not be noticed until it is too late .If you, or someone you know, is put on an allowance, has their social contacts determined by the partner, is treated as a waitress or sex slave, laughed at, put down, or embarrassed in front of others, is usually blamed by their partner, is overly criticized, or if the children are uncomfortable with their mother’s partner, to some degree you are in an abusive relationship. Also, that degree has to get larger over time. If very much of this pertains to you, or someone you know, contact your local women’s shelter, and work out a safety plan.
It’s no wonder that the Rolling Stones “Under My Thumb” became a top hit. It’s also why their next top hit was “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”.
If interested in details, or in how to influence your partner to participate in FANTASTIC’s manifesting program, that also has DV rehab implications, e-mail me you phone number at mani@bayland.net; and I will call you, or leave you a voice mail to set up a phone appointment.
